I think Kaidoh and Momo makes a nice double pair. Like wat people says, the more you argue, the better the relation

Momoshiro's underrated in my opinion. Some say he needs to improve and so forth, but how so? He's one of the only players in the series with real specials (Dunk Smash and Jack Knife). One of the only shot-for-shot aggressors in the manga. He's got awesome power, seemingly almost as much as Taka, but from both wings, whereas Taka only seems to only have a forehand. He's got great court coverage, disguise, sense and strategy.
In his match with Yuushi alone he showed how much control he had when he was able to pin point a pebble, he showed incredible insight and feel for the game by his strategics and methods, and just how beastly and yet controlled his power was when Yuushi mistook him for using 70% of his true strength when he was only using about 25%. People must not've paid much attention to how grand his game proved to be because he came out of that match with a loss, but he's clearly an extreme talent. His power game is one of the top, but in addition he's got incredible insight that allows him to be known as a "fox" and a "trickster".
In my opinion, he's shaped out to be the next Atobe in his ninth grade year, because he's kinda an Atobe-Lite. Atobe is the best at tennis insight, pin-pointing weak spots, creating strategies, seeing the holes in people's games and finding a way to take them out. But we also figured out in his match with Ryoma that his true style is aggressive baselining, and that he's a hard and raw hitter when he plays for real, that crushes his opponent with force and pace. Well, that's what Momo was shaped out to be by the end of the series.
Additionally, he's one of the only versatile players in that he could play both Singles and Doubles. I actually wanted to see him pair up with Eiji more. I thought their combination was awesome, and classic. They had great chemistry in Doubles, and made for an awesome pair. Furthermore, he should've been the captain for the team in the following year. He gets along with virtually everyone and seems to know how to handle people.
I think he's overlooked because he's one of the more normal characters of PoT. He's not over the top ecintric like Eiji, he's not one-tracked and 24/7 serious like Tezuka, he's not Mr. Cocky prodigy like Ryoma, data-enthused like Inui. He's one of the most down-to-earth characters of PoT, from his personality to his specials.

I hated how he didn't get to play in the national finals. I mean the guy beat kaidoh! But no Kaidoh ends up becoming captain... He's a really realistic depiction of agassi if you ask me except perhaps momo's backhand is more defined.

He's a really realistic depiction of agassi if you ask me except perhaps momo's backhand is more defined. I hated that too. I thought he would've made for an excellent addition to the roster - but I guess I could see how they wouldn't be able to fit him in. We all saw the usage of the big 3 coming (Fuji, Ryoma, and Tezuka), and we know how Inui and Kaido are basically inseperable lovers at this point. So I knew he wouldn't have a spot in there. I would've loved to see him pair up with Eiji in doubles again, but I'm glad that they utilized the Golden Pair and showed that they were the #1 Doubles pair and truly deserving of the "Golden" title. And yeah, the only thing that really justifies Kaido as captain to me is his strict work ethic, but still... I mean the guy has like 0 public relation skills whatsoever, and can't manage his temper. As for the Agassi comparrison. In my opinion he's more aggressive than Agassi. Agassi was more of a player who used on-the-rise to dictate points (he's probably the closest I've ever seen to doing anything remotely close to "Tezuka zone) and work his opponents around. Momo, to me, is more of an aggressor - in a way he reminds me of a Marat Safin or someone like that, strong forehand, even bigger backhand (Marat is also known to use the jack knife plenty). But I can see where you're coming from. Agassi is a guy with great insight and understanding of the game, his opponent, and his own game. In those ways, Momo's definitely like him, but still more aggressive in my opinion.

i agree with u about the captain thing...he has better connections with ppl and kaido is dopey with ppl
and they shouldve let momo in more he has done as much as everyone else.and besides u have to give fuji ryoma and tezuka a break..they cant play all the time....neither can the golden pair..they get worn out..they shouldve switched them up so everyone got a chance to play more than once...

I agree. Momo should of been captain instead of Kaidoh..but we cant change that. Momoshiro is awesome :]. Plus he is like best buddys with Ryoma. He needs a chance to play some more of his own tennis XD. Hes as good a player as any of them. But no, hes not treated like it really.

I agree too... Even we don't know how good is Kaido anyway.... but Momo was kind to the 1st year.... if i was one of the new "clubmates" there, I will totally frightened by the captain.... (shoo..... scary*)

I like Momoshiro because he's so real. He doesn't have stacks of fancy moves that defy every law of physics ever (nobody in PoT obeys the laws of physics and he's no exception, but it could be much worse), he isn't a genius or anything either, which makes him a lot more possible a character. It's hilarious when he fights with Kaidoh too, because both of them can conjure an excuse for arguing right out of thin air. A lot of other people overshadow him since they're so impossible and amazing and generally not-realistic-in-the-slightest, which is fascinating a lot of the time but sometimes seems rather laughable. (At the time of writing, I'm mostly thinking of Ryoma and above all both Tezuka and Fuji.)
One thing I don't like about him is that even though he's so good at deducing and analyzing, there are times when he just doesn't seem to think at all.
I also think that the day he doesn't disagree with Kaidoh, the world will collapse in on itself. Their rivalry is a defining part of both their personalities.

i agree guys! momo should have been the captain... but i don't think it matters that much... its like he and kaidoh are both the captain... though, officially, its kaido... he was instructing the members too, right?
tezuka wasn't that approachable either? but he was a great captain...

I hear some things about momo being underrated and thinking about it, it's probably true. Since he has kind of normall speciality's I guess. But I guess it's also up to people indivicually if they give momo a lot of attention or not. I'm sure there are a lot of people who give momo the attention he deserves.
As character he's nice, very believeble too. His rivalry with kaidoh and friendship with echizen are... possible.
About Kaidoh being the captain in stead of momo. I was really surprised by seeing kaidoh being the captain. And I actually like it better like this. I really expected momo to take over from Tezuka. I know Kaidoh isn't really the talkative type, but I guess he'll grow into it. If you'd ask me, I don't think momo is responsable enough to take care of the team and I although people can argue about that. I think Kaidoh can take it better. As we know he also has a very kind side, so...
