as mentioned in another topic, nanjiroh is the only one who can unclock it.
remember the kintarou vs echizen match? well i dont really understand- was it kintarou's mountain storm or echizen's return (which sliced the ball into half) the PoP? cos after the match tezuka chitose and fuji went like...... "pinnacle of perfection" - so whose ball were they referring to. for me i think it's ryoma's coz he could return something more than the 108th level of hadoukyuu
eh and apparently echizen's amnesia has something to do with it....?

well, he didn't really return it so who's point would that be? I think Tezuka and company were referring to Echizen cause he almost returned such a strong shot, isn't it easier to return a powerful shot then to hit one? idk, we'll find out...eventully...

eh well but chitose mentioned somewhere that the one closer to opening the perfection was kintarou rather than echizen. guess we'll find out in yukimura and echizen's match.

Well I already explained that it was Echizen who popped the ball not Kintarou which is probably why his father said "mada mada daze Ryoma" after the match.

yeah.. probably. however from that ball what can we learn about pop? as in, what aspects does it enhance - the ability to return all balls regardless of their power? lol i dont know.

Perhaps the PoP takes after the match with Ryoma's dad vs. kevin's father.

shiraishi uh, what dya mean? ahh so what is pop exactly? enhancement of strenth? god-like abilities?

I'm thinking that the PoP is just a really perfected version of Shiraishi's "bible" tennis. Just added stregnth / speed/ etc.

well if u are as perfect as perfect can be, then i suppose that beating you would be pretty tough

That is just impossible I you cannot play perfectly, tennis was made for you to lose points even if you are perfect. That's why the field was bad long and not wide. There's just too much ground to cover remember shiraishi's last point when fuji hit hakuryu even since he was perfect he missed that shot, luckily it went out.

Putting a ball on fire or having it leave a trail of immense amounts of water is impossible enough as it is. How about having a ball hop 20 feet into the air and having it bounce right back to your hand while all at the same time the bounce manages to stay in. All of this in PoT and you're complaining about the Perfection now? o.O

Well all of it was mostly counter able. Perfection just seems... impossible.

Post by genichirou on Sept 8, 2007 13:14:09 GMT 7
eh then why is it called the pinnacle of perfection
this is also the hightest level of the muga so i guess it'll be pretty undefeatable.

It's times like these you wish you could bribe Nanjirou with pretty girls. i'm sure he'd be happy to tell you then

ahhhhh so wheres the pretty girl? i still think pop is undefeatable- nanjiroh is quite invincible, isnt he?

Sine when he turned pro I think. But like I said I think there might be a flaw with the PoP which I think We might see if ryoma does play yukimura

eh but if that happens it's not perfection

But the other doors of muga all have down sides maybe the last door also has one. Something like he's only able to do it for like a short amount of time. I mean then even if it's perfection he could only use it for a certain amount of time then guess that would be a flaw right?
|
|
|
Post by genichirou on Sept 10, 2007 16:35:42 GMT 7
yeah that could be true. but doesnt he have to unlock the previous two doors to unlock pop? or can he jump straight into unlocking pop? eh i guess i'm gonna re-read the manga to see whats this PoP all about- if not my head may pop.

maybe to defeat it you have to have the jist of what to do to break the trance of the PoP, but the hints are subtle or something. I believe perfection doesn't exist, so there must be a way to defeat it.
or maybe only the user of PoP is aware of his or her own faults which he masks through his techniques. Illusions work pretty well.

Kyukii does have a point... True I think that's how it's probably broken.

Post by genichirou on Sept 13, 2007 15:37:14 GMT 7
but i think since everyone has been so hyped up about the PoP, a lot is expected from it- it cant be a technique broken too easily

Perphaps PoP is really just a state in which a player CAN manipulate his abilities so as to fit and adapt to the opponent's style, but can opt not too, not just a plain 'I have PoP therefore I WILL win' kind of thing.
Just like Tezuka's Pinnacle of Hard Work. He may activate the state but he has to concentrate to the extent that he forces all power on his left hand, right?
(Okay, so I admit my expectations and ways to break PoP changes everytime I post but what the heck. :P)
Maybe no perfection exists without flaws; would it be loss of stamina, breakage of brittle bones? Or perphaps just a very deep etching of tennis in your brain you cannot live without it, even for a day?
That's harsh =X

Looks like the pros are in that state quite often... Well perhaps we'll see yuikimura break it somehow though.

I have a very bad feeling that Yukimura has already opened the last door to Muga no Kyochi (and being extremely secretive about it), and then screws up Ryoma. Rikkai wins, Seigaku defeated. Manga ends.
Simple and can surely be squeezed into 11 chapters. Just that everyone will go 'ITS RYOMA! HE CAN'T LOSE! IT'LL BE LIKE TEZUKA SMILING' and everything.
But still! Yukimura and that eviller-than-Fuji smile. He has to have something up his sleeve. Even if he was in the hospital for half of the whole series with brain damage and whatnot, everyone was gossiping about how 'Yukimura was as good as Tezuka, if not better'.
And Tezuka is like !!!!!!. So to be better, you either have to be Ryoma or you open the last door. Yukimura can't be Ryoma, so he'll open the last door.
(Logic changed once again :\)

It could be possible that Yukimura has indeed opened up the PoP. Maybe his neurological disease is in fact a side-effect for opening up the PoP. Although there's nothing said or implied about Nanjiroh having any Nuerological diseases in the past so that idea gets thrown out the window.
It could be that being that Ryoma is only a first year and has won all the way up to the national tournament this could finally be his end. At the end of the manga it could end up that Yukimura stays top dog and Nanjiroh will go up to Ryoma sympathetically after such a crushing loss from having made it so far undefeated in official matches and say something to the effects of how there's always someone better and how you must improve or some crap like that. Then he would joke around and say "Mada mada daze!" ending the manga in comical form.
