Now there's a rumor about Yukimura playing in singles 2, and the finals will end quickly. If that's the case then Rikkai would win. Is this going to end like slam dunk?
Or maybe, in a couple of years time, PoT will return, with Ryoma being in his 2nd or 3rd year (bit like Naruto) who knows?

hmm then who will echizen play against?
well it could- show echizen as a 3rd year as the "pillar of support" for seigaku and the new seigaku team or something, but they'll have to rethink all the matches from the tokyo region to the nationals.

hmm then who will echizen play against? Let's say if Echizen was in his 3rd year, he could take Tezuka's place as captain and train his new team up. He can give Seigaku's Pillar of Support to another freshman on the team (of course that freshman will have to be like Tezuka and Echizen in personality and tennis skills). So, there's sort of like a cycle.

then wont it start to get boring? PoT will probably end after the current year's nationals i guess

Post by shiraishi on Sept 5, 2007 9:26:59 GMT 7
Yeah it'll get boring if that happens plus they have run out of tennis moves so it'll be hard to create new ones that make sense.

Will they show the match between ryoma and his dad?

Post by eijixnarusime on Sept 5, 2007 14:27:44 GMT 7
i think the ending will be all about Ryoma and sakuno..... that is where the story starts right!? maybe ryoma will say "we are still young..i will come back after i be a pro...wait for me.." sakuno" ryoma-kun..." thats just my guess......
or maybe.... The graduation...or the last party....that would be great...then after 6 years all of them are already pro.......

They can't ALL become pro, right? Out of Seigaku (who we seem to be talking about) I'm guessing it'll be Kaidoh (cause didn't Inui say he would go undefeated in seven years or something if he kept to the right training menu) Tezuka, Echizen and MAYBE Fuji and Momo

|
|
Post by whisper on Sept 5, 2007 17:13:13 GMT 7
Out of Seigaku the most likely to turn pro would definitely be Kaidoh, Tezuka, and as I hate to say it Ihopehediesinaplanecrashtoamericabeforehebecomespro Echizen. I'm not too sure about Momo but Fuji is another great candidate as well.
We know Kawamura won't because he's opening a sushi resturaunt after middle school. Eiji and Oishi might go pro in doubles competition. Inui... his juices might be something used in Tennis tournaments where losers in the tournament have to drink the juice, he could get a bunch of endorsements for that and such. Momoshiro MIGHT turn pro if he improved.

Will they show the match between ryoma and his dad? ah... hopefully they will- however there're only 12 chapters left, hopefully they can squeeze it in. tezuka and echizen are the most likely to turn pro. hmm they COULD actually show echizen as a pro- like what they did with his father and call him shinobi ryoma or something.

|
|
Post by marui on Sept 6, 2007 0:00:36 GMT 7
Shinobi Ryoma xD Well IMO, these are the chances that Seigaku regulars will become pro:
Tezuka: Will become pro. Fuji: Will become pro or a cactus promoter. Taka-san: Sushi shop manager. Oishi: Doubles pro with Eiji. Eiji: Doubles pro with Oishi. Inui: Coach or a Maths professor. Momo: Will become Pro. Kaidoh: Will become Pro. Echizen: Will become Pro.
LOL not very nice...

Well I agree with kaidoh though, Echizen will become pro no matter how much we don't like him. And for Oishi I thought he was going to go to Germany to turn pro but was that tezuka?

didn't someone say that there was 12 chapters left. has it been confirmed

Yes, unfortunately I have no idea how they'll complete the series though with only 12 chapters.

Post by marui on Sept 9, 2007 5:56:19 GMT 7
Well, 11 chapters now.
1 more chapter on D2 2 - 3 chapters on S2 2 - 3 chapters on D1 2 - 3 chapters on S1 Remaining chapters to end it.
I don't think we'll see Kintarou or Nanjiroh play anymore.

eh maybe in singles one echizen unlock the pop and everything ends very fast, cos he's invincible or something.
hmm maybe they would release 2 or more chapters in a single week? ah yes it's not likely but that's what i'm wishing for.

I don't think that Konomi should 'plan' on finishing this series in less than 12 chapters. I mean, take as much time as you want, things wouldn't look good if they're rushed... Why 12 chapters exactly? Why can't it just "go with the flow"?

hmm in the first few prince of tennis chapters, there were quite a few pages right? 50+ or something. maybe the last few chapters could have more pages?

yeah i want pot to return as well, but would it be repetitive? there could something like the naruto shippuuden series- maybe they'll show echizen as a pro? cos it's sorta boring if it's gonna be the nationals all over again

Ok. There is not going to be a sequel if you guys want to know, mainly because they have shed to much light on tennis moves so if they do make a sequel they cannot create new moves and such making the story deteriorate. And the reason the manga is ending quickly is probably because konomi had a deal with shonen jump to finish as I said before at an early date so he can start a new work, in which case we should probably find the last few chapters kind of rushed. Yes I also think there might not be enough to showcase the nanjiroh battle and if you ask me the statistics provided by marui saying 2-3 chapters on each battle it is lower than what we find in most other chapters, which means either that things might get skipped or singles one is skipped and ryoma might play yukimura in singles 2 instead to decide the battle. this will definitely allow the manga to show "enough" for the fans to be happy. However I dobt this will happen because they want to conclude the show with everyone in the picture which means all the regulars in general but if they do that then it'll become really compact. We see the example of this in the inui, kadoh vs. renji, kirihara. We all agree that the chapter was short right? If so I'm sorry but we have to expect the rest of the manga to be like this. Our only hope is in the ova's which might show a better perspective of things.

I dont think echizen will have a match with nanjiroh at all. It probably ends with echizen beating yukimura and najiroh, who watched the match, says something like, you surpassed me.

yeah maybe his dad pops out of the stand selling popcorn or something, and he watches the match like the time he watched ryoma play sanada.

Nanjiroh saying "you've surpassed me" at the end? o.O When this whole time he's been saying that all Echizen's been doing is going through "kiddy" competition.
