does anyone like kirihara? did anyone like him the old way when he didn't use his serious form? i thought he said that he didn't need that form to win a while back but now he is using it again in the nationals.

i like kirihara- but i'm wondering why he's playing doubles. well just some thought, in the anime was his red-eyeness cured? cos apparently in the west usa match he didnt show any form of red eye-ness. well my guess is the usa match was probably a filler which means he still has the devil inside him.

i saw that he went up against another school in the nationals and he was losing. he was facing a captain who had a violet style of play.

I was hoping to see more of Echizen in this chapter. It's pretty hilarious, seeing Echizen's 'soft' side. I think this match is going to focus on Kirihara most, showing us how he's become stronger.
Just thought of something. If this really is the real Kirihara playing (and not what the rumor's been saying - it's Nioh disguised as Kirihara (besides, this is renji we're talking about, not yagyuu)), then who's going to play singles 2?
Singles 1 is obviously taken by Yukimura, and doubles 1 is either Marui - Jackal or Nioh - Yagyuu, so lets say Nioh - Yagyuu is in doubles 1, does that mean either Jackal or Marui will be playing singles 2? =D

I hope that happens.

Yeah, the Rikkaidai order confused me as well. My gut feeling is that Marui will play Singles 2 and Doubles-1 will be Nioh.Yagyuu

does anyone think that bunta has a new move

Yeah, the Rikkaidai order confused me as well. My gut feeling is that Marui will play Singles 2 and Doubles-1 will be Nioh.Yagyuu Poor Jackal >.< To make it all the way to the finals and not play... He was always there to support bubblegum boy as well. Well, the sames happening to Seigaku. If Fuji plays singles 2 and Golden Pair doubles 1 and Ryoma singles 1, then that leaves Momo hanging and not playing the finals. We all know that Taka-san can't play with his injuries from the match against Gin. Poor Momo then... Though it would be funny if Inui and Momo paired for doubles 2 and Renji/Kirihara accidentally drank Inui's juice and had to forfeit. Think that happened before in the anime somewhere... does anyone think that bunta has a new move Yup, I do. It is Marui Bunta we're talking about hehe. ^^"

Yeah Momo accidentally drinks some of Inui's experimental Juice. it was during a game with Jyosei Shonan

Yeah but Jyosei Shonan was just a filler arch, I didn't like that arch sans their sensei. She was hot. Those twins would've been good lookin if they were actually girls... but just like other anime's... just girly looking guys ~_~

dont think marui will be playing singles though- in the last match against seigaku he was more of a volleyer right? i dont know, the order always surprises me.
yeah i think poor momo's gonna be the one left out this time round.

|
Post by whisper on Aug 28, 2007 16:20:15 GMT 7
Yeah but Jirou's a volleyer and his play style is basically just a carbon copy of Marui's and he plays singles for Hyotei. The one and only that defeated Yuuta in only 15 minutes.

but looked how he got thrashed by fuji. well for me i think the order's pretty messed up for rikkai. we'll just wait and see how PoT suprises us with the playing order :]

Yeah but Jyosei Shonan was just a filler arch, I didn't like that arch sans their sensei. Oh, you didn't like them? Jyosei Shonan was the only filler arc I liked throughout the whole anime. I'd prefer Jyosei Shonan to Midoriyama though... Really, the mangaka could've wrote more about them, it was sort of a 'talented' school after all. But yeah, I like Jyosei Shonan. If only they replaced Midoriyama in the manga... *sigh* Anyway one thing I didn't like about JS is Reiji -.-' Alien face... The one and only that defeated Yuuta in only 15 minutes. Didn't Echizen have trouble with Yuuta? IMO Yuuta was just over rated... but looked how he got thrashed by fuji. I know I was expecting a lot from Jiroh... At least make Fuji have a hard time for the first few games! He was just another over rated character I guess... But I'm sure if it was Marui vs Fuji, Marui would've done... a LOT better lol ;D

I'm not saying i support the theory that Kirihara is Niou in disguise, i'm just saying that the Niou/Renji pair has been done before, in the semifinals. At the Semifinals, it was
Singles 3-Yagyuu Doubles 2-Marui and Jackel Singles 2-Kirihara Doubles 1- Niou and Renji Singles 1-Sanada
Rikkai is doing that "must-make-a-bold-line-up-to-defeat-opponet-plan" that Tezuka did in the Hyotei match =D

I'm not saying i support the theory that Kirihara is Niou in disguise, i'm just saying that the Niou/Renji pair has been done before, in the semifinals. Well, either they've found something in that pair, and Kirihara is disguised as Niou, or they're just trying out new pairs, like Kirihara and Renji, who knows? If it IS Niou, we'll find out sooner or later. And about that "trying out new pairs", I know it might be an unreasonable time to do that, but if Sanada, Yukimura and Renji is playing, I don't think that Rikkai thinks that theres a chance of them losing in the finals (plus, all 5 matches have to be played, right?). Rikkai is doing that "must-make-a-bold-line-up-to-defeat-opponet-plan" that Tezuka did in the Hyotei match =D Do you mean Hyotei, from Kantou or Nationals? Or both?

it was during the nationals- the order for seigaku's match against hyotei was pretty surprising. the thing is ryoma played singles 1 against atobe while everybody expected tezuka to go against atobe.

Well, it wouldn't be surprising this time if Echizen played Yukimura T_T

i just had a thought (i do that sometimes, but only occasionally XD) this will be the first time any of us will see Yukimura play, and he's probably gonna lose....that's no fun

We finally get to see more of doubles 2 and the forgetful Echizen! Wonder if anything surprising is gonna happen...

maybe kaidoh will show somemore of his unlimited stamina and new tricks? they seemed pretty messed up in chapter 355 by kirihara.
|
|
|
Post by shiraishi on Aug 31, 2007 1:09:29 GMT 7
Nope I don't think Kaidoh has any new tricks and besides to me it looks like seigaku's double's one is going to lose. I don't know maybe it'll come close but I don't think inui and kaidoh are going to win.
|
|
|
Post by marui on Aug 31, 2007 2:53:24 GMT 7
Yeah, I agree. To have Inui and Kaidoh beat Renji and Kirihara is just... unusual. Well, if it was singles, then yeah, Inui > Renji. Though I think Kirihara would still be stronger than Kaidoh in singles.

|
Post by shiraishi on Sept 1, 2007 2:58:43 GMT 7
well it's not really inui>renji remember the time when they faced off? Inui said the probability of winning was 50/50 so it could be any man's game next time. And I also think renji improved quite a bit from their last match.
|
|
|
Post by marui on Sept 1, 2007 4:19:20 GMT 7
Well, so has Inui... But I still have the feeling that they'll lose, with Renji countering Inui's 'Waterfall' already...
