I've been thinking about how Nintendo systems were looked down on when I was a kid, because they 'kiddie' games. If you played any game where you weren't shooting someone's face off their head, you weren't cool. Although Nintendo games have never been entirely non-violent (their flagship series revolves around stamping on turtles and setting fish on fire), the 'killing is thrilling' school of game development seems to be getting worse now, with first and third person shooters being the dominant genre. That's why I wanted to ask you for your top ten non-violent games. You can't pick any game with weapons or where killing or being killed is part of the gameplay.
