Lol well basically I had this idea for a while but it's taken me some time to post it really. Well here we discuss the one thing that creates almost all good graphics -- Photoshop! This thread basically has everything for noobs and even for the veterans. It'll contain your opinions on and help on certain issues, as well as tutorials that you found helpful. You can post up links of your favorite font or set of brushes. Actually it should contain all the technical elements of a photoshopping thread. I'm pretty sure this will help those who are bogged down (including myself) on certain issues. Problem solved! I hope this thread will help you all. I'll start first with some advice that our graphic mod presented to me back in September. He told me the keys to making good signatures. It starts first with tutorials... the more you watch the more you'll learn to increase your own style. One site that helped me with this was: www.pixel2life.com It includes everything for photoshop! Just go to categories and then photoshop and check out some of the things they have up. Another place that helped me with layer styling and desktoping was: www.psdtuts.com this will help you greatly with text effects. It's quite amazing! For brushes I'll post my favorites up another time, other than that I would like to take the time to post up this link: www.1001fonts.com it has nearly every type of font out there... It kind of hard to choose! well basically these are the links for now I have some more for sure but I'm really tired today hopefully you guys will get some of the one's that i missed. If anyone needs help or has a question about photoshop please post it here. We'll try to solve it for you if we can. Thank you, R.H.

Well for one, there's not only photoshop~ There's GIMP- an easier version, and Corel Paint pro shop, and so much more. Those are the few that I know of and am good in inside out (I just don't show) My favorite site for help and gawking sigs/banners,etc: www.gfxvoid.com/forums/There's a render forum: planetrenders.net/

well. you see Shiraishi~san theres a lot of ways to make avies. but heres how I make them its either. you make a sig and crop it into the right size. make a new file with size 100x100 [which ever you please] and then just decorate it like how you make a sig.
or the Yuri~chan way XD you make a new file with size 200x200 or 150x150 create some background put a render etc. then resize it to 100x100 and then put the text or text brushes last so you could still read them ^.^;;
hope this somehow helps.. >_<

Sure ^^
I do Avies with weirdness.
first, I make a Sig (375 x 100 one) that contains NOTHING but a background. then I make a new document, which is a 100x100 one, and use the clone stamp tool to transfer the background I made to this new document, then I pull out the render, clone stmap it, add gradient maps* gradient maps, how I love you so~~!* then the brushes and I'm done XD.

You shouldn't try our techniques first, go with the traditional way
CLONE STAMPING~!
like clone stamping screen shots and adding a witty comment XD

that's ok asuka but I was wondering about something when I was looking at your sig. Did you use brushes for the effects of duplication? I like what you did in the right and left sides of the pic. That reminds me...
I've been running out of brushes to use, I just keep using the same old brushes over and over. I was wondering if you guys could share me your favorite brush set and where I could find it. I would also like it if you guys told me your favorite font seeing as I need some more... sorry for the bother guys, but thanks if you fill my request!

Well I did but thing is that I don't know which one is the best. I want some really nice fonts that you guys like. The best ones are the plain ones, you just need to jazz 'em up a bit to make them really nice! I'd go for monotype, *looks through fonts list* I have a lot wait. - Crackdown (all of 'em) > bubblish - Edwardian Script ITC > Another cursive - French Script MT > French curve - Imprint MT Shadow > has shadowed outline - Maiandra GD > Stylishly curvy - Palace Script MT > Cursive font - Pristina > I think it's cool XD - Arial- Papyrus- monotypeBasically the ones I use and/or are good..plainish~

You're welcome Shii-kun ^^
Ne you've asked me for help in the transparent text?
You go to the blending options box and change the modes around with the opacity. Depending on the image you are using it'll change to better or worse.

Eto, Yukibu's effect is simpler, if you just change the opacity. I usually use Soft Light on black text. Sometimes try this: turn the text layer's fill (FILL, not opacity) to 0%, use outer glow with 100% opacity and normal blending mode. It's a nifty effect for elegant-themed images.
