Serving? That's the hardest part of the game depending on how you look at it.

Tip:
Try not to over exert yourself if your playing a lot in one day, it's good practice but in the morning be prepared to feel sore. It's common, so you'll get use to it after a while.

lol I used to get that a lot before my whole arm was bruised in the mornings... Doubtless my right arm still is. May is getting close and elbow is almost healed time to play tennis for real soon.

I'm guessing you did a slice smash alkaid? And catzeye though you may not know it, nearly everyone generates some type of spin. You'll find yourself hitting topspin and slice naturally though as you get better you'll start to notice how to predict spin.

Heh, if you get good enough, you'll even hit topspins when you dont even know it. It's suppose to feel natural like that. Reminds me of how Roger hits a slice and it generates more topspin even though he sliced.

Exactly what I wanted to say wing. I mean the guy uses a continental but the way he brushes the ball the spin is backwards. It's something crazy not many players can generate a spin like that. For now I switched back to my old continental grip. It gives me quite a lot of power with the problem that I use a lot of my under arm strength. Also I think the wrist is sometimes damaged by continuous usage.

Usually I use continenetal for serving. Depends on the situation, ex: volly, etc.
It gives some nice control to the ball, You cant hit pretty hard with it too though..
My friend's forehand is a semi-western, he says he's not that comfortable with it anymore.. So he's switching to an Eastern forehand grip like me.

Eastern's tend to give more tennis elbow to people so I naturally avoided it seeing that i already have it. Continental has to be used right though... I've seen people who just end up using a western while hitting thinking that it a continental. You have to have a pronation of the wrist or there is no power, and my wrist is small. Semi-western produces the most rip in a ball usually for me that's when I hit a ball close to my body. Western is good overall but tends to be a high shot, but keep in mind there are three types of westerns you could use. There is the continental/western which involves the base index knuckle to be near the big flat panel and the right side slant. Then you have the semiwestern/western this is the ultimate backhand producing good slice and extreme topspin, the forehand is good as well. Then you have the mid western. This is the basic western grip but to get the shots right you have to have a good follow through.
Usually I don't know anything concerning the eastern but the fact that it can extreme slice if you use a beveled swing. Wing tell me about the backhand for the eastern I heard you have to rotate it or something.

I suggest you hit small swings, and stay near the baseline.

After I just read that, I'm starting to notice that I actually can predict the spin and when to hit it even if the ball jumps you. Kinda creepy, but it grows on you like it's a good habit.

What'd he do? lol This sat was supposed to be my debut day. I screwed up badly and lost 2 of my 3 matches. Now that I really think about it it's the number one thing in tennis to put topspin on your shots. This ensures that the ball will land in and not go flying towards the sky.

Is it even possible to do a twist serve or a boomerang snake? I can do a dunk smash.
