Really I finished it last year with 5 of my other friends in fact I was gonna make a topic before I saw yours. I'm a 13kyshuu or rank 13 amuetuer in go it's pretty fun, but the show itself is really beautiful and I'm pretty sure Echizen watched it as well. Well it is number 7 on the anime list so it really was done greatly and I felt heartbroken when sai left. The music is great I have it saved on my I pod and I'm pretty sure takeshi obata is making another season since it was incomplete. Does anyone know the last ep in the anime is it after hikaru gets in to the korean, china, japan championships. My friend told me it should have been longer and that the end was to abrupt and so I'm guessing there's going to be a sequel.

Yeah it's that one but it seemed incomplete because they only showed him getting into the tournament and not playing in it. What do you think tezuka, will there at least be a sequel.

I love this series! I haven't watched too much of the anime but I have been up-to-date with the manga. HnG is very beautifully detailed in pretty much everything! I would imagine if there were to be a sequel that Hikaru would be much older, though it wouldn't be the same without Sai

Well I love the animation which was so extraordinary in the anime that when you look back at hikaru in his 5th grade and the current hikaru you notice the drastic change, and thing is you don't notice it till the very end. Oh and the manga I think should be up to volume 11 I think? Well watch the anime which I think is actually better that the manga.

He left because his time was up, his task was done. In the end sai realized that his objective wasn't to play the divine move but to influence and create his existence through the means of hikaru, so in a way his existence was replaced by hikaru. He left because he finished what he was meant to do or in other words shape Hikaru.

that is the whole message of the show and it's so beautifully done. Did anyone watch the english dub? It really sucked and made a total mockery of hikaru no go.

Why doesn't Konomi learn from Hikaru no Go and make Ryoma lose something precious (like that forever no losing thingo he holds)
I play Go. Slightly. Its like is the Chinese Weiqi, and I suck at it.

I play go at kisedo go server and my friends and I play it during lunch times... well I used to be good don't know if I still am. In fact if jiroh plays online I would like to challenge him. Oh and the reason I liked PoT was because it resembled a lot of hikaru no go with the whole "I want it get stronger motto" But I think Hikaru no go did this better than PoT
Hey does anyone know why the title is called hiakaru no go?

The author (lady, not Obata Takeshi) said that she wanted to name the title "KyuBoshi" or 'nine stars' since the Go Board has nine dots on it, called stars or 'hoshi'.
but when she called the editor about the idea, the editor said. "THAT'S TOO BORING. MAKE A BETTER ONE."

No specifically it meant the tengen points. Or the points of heaven.

I know xD But the fact that it was rejected was that it could mean anything. Maybe?

Well yeah true but the show itself was so beautifully done and I believe it should have at least been in the three anime's in japan. But I guess being number 7 is not so bad, or at least compared to prince of tennis which is I think in 36th place. Well which of the songs did you guys like in the show? My favorites were: I'll be the one, hitomi no chikara, boukura no bouken, days, and well fantasy was good as well. Hey who here actually felt bad for hikaru when he realized sai was gone? I almost cried for him, I mean it goes to show the great pair the author made for hikaru and sai.
