For example shoes, would handmade shoes without a label on them be of higher quality than, say, authentic designer factory-made shoes? It depends less on how many machines were involved in making the item then it does what market the maker was intending to sell in. Machines can be made to produce - even mass-produce - items that are as strong or stronger, or as finely or more finely detailed than can be made by hand. However, someone hand making something is more likely to want to invest the effort to ensure it's not crap. This is not always the case though. The targeted market will reveal how much effort the factory owning company or the hand making professional puts into the item. No one, for example, is going to bust their **** to make a top quality product that will sell in Wal-Mart's for But if you kind a crafter or a company that exclusively focuses on trying to make a top-end quality version of the same product - the effort will show - and cost you. The price an artisan or company offers something out for is often a good indication of the quality level you can expect. ====== handmade items
