the us open has begun! here's a thread to discuss about it.
i'd think that federer would win- doesnt he always -.- except on clay. however i'd like nadal to win though- he is improving at an astonishing rate so i wouldnt be surprised if he actually won the us open.

Nadal is the only obstacle that federer has to face this year since he nearly demolished all the other pro's it'd be great to see the finals, but the tickets are very expensive. My tennis practice sessions have been rescheduled so I guess the open is kind of bad for me. Anyway do you think sharapova's going to win for the female side? I was betting on venus but she seems to have gotten bad lately.

Hey =) How about keeping me updated about the US Open now that my T.V's broken? Having a forum-friend to bring me news every two days is always better (IMO) than researching on the net ;D Plus, you get to see what other's opinions are. ^^"

Nadal isn't playing his best though (i'm kinda new to real-life tennis but from watching the open i hear these things XD) supposedly his knees aren't too good right now, i heard he had some kind of surgery and isn't playing at 100%

Yup he had surgery cause back in the wimbledon he suffered from a sprain and I think he's gonna lose this year but sometimes whenever he plays Roger he has this passion. He just turns amazing and sometimes ends up winning from a losing situation. Well I went to see Sharapova's match, she is going to win the open since she demolished her opponent 6-2. 6-4, 6-1.

Gomen, Gomen, I meant opponents. She beat the first set with nagamoya 6 - 2, and the second 6 -1, the one I watched the other day was her vs. some belgian girl. She won the first set 6 - 4 and then I left because the belgian girl was playing so horribly. And no I totally missed that match I really wanted to see it my friend said it was really good, I missed it cause I went to see dhojevtsky's match.

I saw the 3rd seed's match, his name is....*looks it up now*Novak Djokovic (roughly: No-vack Joke-o-vitch, i think) it was cool because everyone thought he was gonna win easily (cause the 35th was 8 years older and about 30 seeds behind) but he gave a really good match, i'm not too good at explaining matches, m/b you can find it at usopen.org

nadal lost!! -sigh- i was hoping he could at least make it to the finals! ahhhhhhhh. well, ferrer played well- it was quite an exciting match actually. i think that nadal should've won! he had physical set-backs- his ring finger had a cramp, and apparently his knee was wounded.

eh shiraishik dont worry words arent censored on this forum :X
yeah same here this season's us open results are quite... unpredicted. i always thought nadal would at least reach the semis. and roddick... he was the champ of 2005, no? in a few hours' time would be the ladies' finals- i cant wait

see see? it was censored, who's rodthingy? And i think he was the 2003 or 2004 champ but, whatever. It's kinda weird, because all of the good matches (Rodd.ick vs Federer, Federer vs Isner etc) were before the finals, makes the finals seem kinda anti-climatic (not that there isn't going to be a good match but....)

Darn the match was horrible her opponent lost nearly all her stamina in the first game. But it's expected of henin to win really because I think it's her will that dominated the open. Can't wait to see ferderer play against ferer.

ahhhh shiraishi you are one lucky person.
"Roger Federer might soon own every record in the sport, but he put a huge one on the board by winning the 2007 US Open title with a dramatic and hard-fought, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (2), 6-4 victory over Serb Novak Djokovic that might not be broken this century: going back-to-back-to-back-to-back at Wimbledon and the US Open four consecutive times." - usopen.org
well, it's roger federer whaddya expect.

But really Djokovic fought hard and since I had second stand seating I was able to see his expression when he lost the second set by a milimeter. To me I thought the whole match was big mental battle in which whoever keeps their cool wins; and ferderer who did this much better than Djokovic (Who was losing his cool every 5 seconds) won.
