Anyone seen japan's number one anime? It just finished in July and it rocks. It's only a 37 episode anime so it's a short watch so it won't take a lot of your time. It really makes you think about ethics and how the human world is run. I heard any discussion about the anime in school in japan is forbidden. Is this true?

um deathnote- theres the anime and theres the manga. in singapore (where i live -_-), the movie was very popular. i'm watching the anime currently though and am at episode 23. well i went on a holiday to China recently and found out that sales of the movie was forbidden there. and the movie also wasnt shown in theatres.
i'm not sure if the discussion about death note in japan schools is forbidden, since it's a japanese anime. i dont know though.

um tezuka do you mean the movie or the anime. i think that the anime was probably better - i've finished watching it haha although it's quite sad that light had to die in the end. ]:

i couldn't find all the eps for the anime so i started reading the manga. L is awesome, i hated that they killed him off. i heard some ppl just stopped reading/watching after L died but then they wouldn't see Near Mello or Matt (i <3 them too) so i basically like any1 from Wammy's (is that what the school was called?) *some people don't know, but Matt is the guy who was working with Mello, he had goggles on his head, he was apparently third in line for the position of L, with Near and Mello as first and second respectively

The anime was really good but the whole reason was for Light to die in the end to show that no matter how much evil you can destroy you can't really destroy it because there is no good without evil.

I just saw the end of the Death Note anime, and i think it's even more violent than the manga, at least the episodes i saw were...what do you think?

Really bloody... but they actually spent a lot of time on it so that's why it appeared so graphic.

I don't really know, but I guess it's because of the mentions of God and someone becoming a God or something like that, something about religion maybe...i don't really know

The reason why it is banned is because students wrote names of their friends and teachers in a notebook that resembled the death note.

They said that they were just having fun. They said that they wrote in the book after they got tired of studying. They said that some Chinese newspaper and psychologists defended the book. They say that the teachers and parents were overreacting.

Well true but imagine if it worked.... Well the show itself reveals an intriguing insight to the real "parts" that god plays. In a way I think death note challenges humanity and religion to show viewer that the world is not what it seems.

Yeah its banned in China. I went China and brought one of my manga (Book 9), and my Dad told me to hide it somewhere. The worst thing was that I bought this notebook resembling the Death Note and was nearly bloody slaughtered by my Dad. So we hid it in the luggage xD
*wasn't caught*

my friend in china told me that deathnote becomes forbidden coz many students buy some deathnote from anime shops..and they write the name of their teachers and also their parents..so many parents complain with that anime...

wow....If it was about religion, I was going to say that D.Grayman, Hellsing, and etcetc would be banned too, but I didnt know that students actually did that for fun...
There's a comedy group called Lincoln in Japan that has a corner called DeathNote, and whatever's written on that note comes true, or the actor has to make it come true.
SO for example... if in the deathnote it says that soandso has to sing Love Machine from Morning Musume with only boxers on in the middle of Harajyuku, the person's whos name is written on it has to do it.

D.Gray-Man is not very bad :\ At least not as bad as Trinity Blood, which just craps about the priest being a vamp or something D:
Hmm: Akutagawa Jiroh of Princeoftennis7 shall immediately scream that Atobe is king in one thread and then pm kyuuki of Princeoftennis7 about it
