I'm a tennis player as well and so far for the past two years I've been doing training. I would get into the whole story of my tennis life but it's a rather long one. I used to use a head ti series racket but now I use a head metallix 4.

Nope, tennis isn't a very popular sport in England. Nevertheless, PoT inspired me to play tennis. I'm not a tennis player, although if our school started a tennis club, I would join.

Tennis is a pretty great game and PoT just reinforces that, so far there are about 8 kids who joined our tennis team after watching it, but sadly most don't have the patience and leave a week later.

Oh? Haha, were they all expecting to play like Echizen or Tezuka? xD
Kid 1: Hey, how comes I can't do the twist serve yet? shiraishi: ... Kid 1: That's it, I'm gone.

lol I got into Tennis before I discovered PoT. I used to be a huge basketball buff, still am but I lost the desire to just play the game in itself, that gap was filled by Tennis. My ex who was on my hs's tennis team somehow got me into it. *shrug

Tennis is awesome but it's intimidating since there are kids who have played it their whole life but you know what. Even those kids have a hard time against me and I haven't played an official match in two years.

Since we've established that not only are we PoT fans but we are also Tennis faithfull's I wonder what your guys style of tennis is.
I myself when asked for evaluation am a counter-puncher. And since stamina has always been my strong point I've tried to model my game around Kaidoh's =P I have a head airflow5 racquet.
I'll admit though i've shown very little interest in the professional tennis world and know very little about it. Thanks to Shiraishi's research i've been practicing the buggy whip shot while watching a lot of vids Davenport's and Federer's matches to try and knock it down since i'm more of a visual learner.

eh well stamina is my strong point too. - i used to run cross country before i got into tennis. my raquet is a wilson ncode-5. hmm well for my play style: i prefer baseline shots and rarely volley- until i'm forced to. (i'm still trying to improve on that lol)

All-rounder and the singles one player in my Middle school. I was supposed to win the mayor's cup this year but my computer broke down and then I couldn't get the form till the deadline passed. In fact I have never shown my tennis skills except to my closest friends, since I was training for two solitary years and now probably for three. I used to lead the track team and probably I'll start gymnastics this year. I hope to get on my varsity team in my high school. I moderate on my serves changing between the four I love flat, twist, topspin, and slice.

Noooo Guys!! I was playing tennis this morning with my friends (I decided to give tennis a try), and it made me realize one thing.... that I TOTALLY SUCK AT TENNIS! I think I'm even worst than Horio and his two years of tennis experience! Man... It was hell embarrassing, considering that I was bragging about how GREAT I was (yeah well, I didn't know I would do THAT bad... I thought I might be on Fuji's level at least xD) >_< I feel so foolish now... Totally failed - What a Loser. Tennis is SO DIFFERENT from badminton!! I dunno how I'm gonna face my friends tomorrow in school... Man... I sure suck. Really marui? That must give you an edge then in other sports right? Hmm... Well, badminton and basketball are just an extra fun curriculum (you know when you apply for colleges? They look for these 'extra activity' things so...) and soccer is just one of my interests (besides, I like collecting medals). Eh... And I hate to say this, but joining a sports club in school actually gets you... 'known' XD

Tennis is a great sport, but I feel that martial arts fit me better. I would like to try it out someday though. My uncle played when he was young.

If I ever bothered to run, I would.
*gets bricked*
But I would really want to play, if it doesn't involve running laps that is. I can stand running all around picking balls, but laps are terror.

hey really kira? You remind me of this korean kid that I played a few year back he was like two years younger than me and he actually kept up the shots I made. He said he had been playing since he was four, and now I just met up with him recently he plays in the metro rankings and he asked me if we could have a rematch... well I probably should have told him I was in the national rankings... Well either way he played well, only that I manged to pull of my completed buggy whip shot that managed to curve at a big degree. It was funny really because back when we used to play in the NYJTL he always wanted to know how to do that shot since I was the only one who knew how to do it good in the team. Tennis is a great way to revist memories now isn't it...

I've played tennis for about six years now. But nowadays I'm busy in other stuff, band mainly so I dont have time as I used to in elementry/intermediate school. I play singles. I used to play doubles with a partner I had but he moved to Australia so I pretty much didnt find anyone else I clicked with.

I admit, I wanted to play tennis because of PoT (Ryoma made it look so easy!) but today I stepped onto a court for the first time in five years (played a little bit in my high school Lifetime Sports class). Being on the court with my brother and friends (one of them has played on her high school team and might sign up again this year. She taught me the basics today) reminded me of how hard it actually is! So I am going to research it more and try to find a place where I can practice. If not than find a gymnasium to work on my swings till Spring when the courts open again. I tried with my Dad's old Wilson racquet but my friend's grandmother gave me a Prince J/R Tour Lite. Her sister is selling some nice ones and she is gonna show them to me.
Tennis is definitely something I want to get good at now and I am willing to work at it.

Honestly there's no shame in playing tennis, it's just like playing a game of soccer or basketball, it's basically fun.

Your right running is great and being the track team captain is my proof of my love for it. I ran a great deal over the summer because my doctor told me not to play tennis seriously for at least 6-8 months because of my operation on my arm. But I don't listen to him... (My arm is killing me...) well either way I beleive to be good in tennis you need to be good in a lot of things like running, hand eye coordination, jumping and a lot of other stuff. My friend says that you need to be really athletically cut to be really good in tennis.
