I agree, i mean HE LEFT. he chose the US open over the Nationals (even though no one on the team seemed to care....) I'm not saying he shouldn't have chosen the open, but still....

yes exactly what was the point of deciding if he was going to come back?

Momo-chan did cry. But I guess the whole "Ryoma-going-to-the-US-Open-instead-of-the-Nationals" business was a bit ridiculous.

I think it ruins the effect of the last episode...if he was just going to come back in a month or two what's the big deal?

Yeah what the heck was with the whole arigato buisneess, if he was gonna come back. Now I really feel that the whole ova thing was just spontaneous and made on the spot.

After episode 178 they weren't going to carry on with the OVAs (nationals). They just wanted to end the anime there, and those who's still interested in the nationals can read the manga. But because of fan's demand, they decided to make the OVAs.
So basically, the whole anime was supposed to end on episode 178, they weren't planning to do the nationals at all.

That's why the Nationals follow the manga instead of the anime then...

I'm guessing it would've been too hard to make a completely different storyline without Echizen involved since he is the main character. BUT BUT BUT.... since a lot of things are different enough as it is, maybe in the OVA's they'll change things around in the match with Shitenhouji and have Kintarou and Echizen play an official match

I hope... But the ova's are following the manga thoroughly though.
And Marui does have a point the anime and the ova may be very different because of the flaws between the manga and the anime.

But does it mean that the anime moves (Cyclone Smash et cetra) would not appear in the OVA anymore?

|
|
Post by whisper on Sept 14, 2007 19:55:04 GMT 7
I hope that the Cyclone Smash won't be shown in the OVA. What a crappily cheap move. I really hope that they don't show Yagyuu playing golf in the OVA... that was just lame. I'm glad the OVA's are following the manga.

Well I agree there were some really... cheap moves that defied physics in the anime. Since we haven't seen the smash used yet I guess it's safe to say only the moves shown in the manga will be shown in the ova.

And the "Phantom Ball", poor poor Kirihara, they changed his entire character...

KIRIHARA IS SUPPOSEDLY BAD. You can't make him good. Its like Eiji being depressed >_<

No I really didn't understand the whole thing with kirihara... why is he still bad in the manga I thought he changed. And this means there's gonna be no phantom ball in the manga chapter huh?

No. Kirihara is still bad in the manga.

Well..what can we expect he is the main character

|
|
Post by shiraishik on Sept 21, 2007 4:43:37 GMT 7
.......we need a new main character.....jk ;D , just a less perfect one, but anyway, in the end, it's all Oishi's fault for giving his spot up....
|
|
|
Post by shiraishi on Sept 21, 2007 9:41:28 GMT 7
Exactly why did oishi do that, he should just have kicked ryoma out of the team. Well now I guess that almost everyone worked equally hard to get to the tournament and that's why they share an equal amount of game time.
I feel bad for kawamura though, he's not in the finals....

....you don't know that, i predict Singles 1-Yukimura vs Kawamura!!!!!! ;D jk

LOL! Kawamura is injured beyond extent how can he face yukimura? Unless he has a racket in his hand!!!!!

Yes. Then Yukimura would be bludgeoned to death by the racket xD

lol!! Well it's just hilarious when gin just blew kawamura 20 feet into the air, but back on topic. I really felt bad for Kawamura being the "Extra baggage in seigaku", I mean what the heck ryoma should be the extra baggage!

Duh. Screw Ryoma. Kawamura makes good sushi.
Actually, since the anime has gotten so much out of point and not according to the manga, they had a tweak the OVAs (which were apparently supposed to follow the manga like a good boy). The anime sent off Ryoma, and to keep it near the OVA they need to have him back.
Hot blast.

Ryoma is in the OVAs because he finished his match in US. Open plus Oishi-senpai's wrist is still injured.
