Ryoma won the US. Open, kyuuki-san. Oishi's wrist has been hurt since the Kantou Tournament to now. He didn't hurt it again but I think it's a severe injury. He said it was healed but I think he just pretended.

I don't like what the anime did. Having Ryoma defeat top PRO's and coming back for the nationals just like that? Realistically it shouldn't have even been that fast because Ryoma's not the only one playing, there are other matches in the US Open that should take a while.
I like that the OAV's are finally following the manga like it should but maybe they shouldn't have done them at all because the story is just messed up. Like when Tezuka was supposed to be in Germany for his treatment, but in the OAV's they showed him going to Kyuushu without saying anything about Germany. !?!??!

true. that was confuzzling.. they should've made it follow anime at the worst and made it all fall into eachother.
I think most likely that fandom was what threw this into a mayhem. fanletters, fanmail, fanmobs, fancries, etcetc

Maybe some crazy Ryoma fangirl decided to put her whining skills to a test and started complaining that the anime made Ryoma go to the States and most likely not to come back. Which is of course what everyone is wishing for. But Konomi doesn't like to be hated, so he got the OVA produced so they can see Ryoma play and fangirl over him like some slug.
Okay, so the slug is random, but is there another word to describe the scene?

Wait in the manga did tezuka go to kyshuu? Well anyway about Oishi, this is my piece of advice to him. STOP LYING DAMMIT! You can use a western grip and still play for a few minutes?! Let me tell you something, the western grip places twice the amount of pressure on a wrist and yet we see oishi keep on using it. I was like... Why did you lie. WHY DID YOU LIE AND GIVE RYOMA YOUR SPOT? ??

Tezuka went to Kyushu in the manga, I think. He met Chitose Miyuki there.
Maybe his wrist was really hurting xD. Or Oishi is just a big liar and made a gigantic mistake D:

I think it's the latter. Hmm... maybe he got tired of playing tennis with eiji. Or he just wanted ryoma to "Bring" in victory. I doubt without echizen seigaku would have gone far in the nationals.

Eiji must be sad D:
But I think Seigaku would have a more satisfying victory if they didn't always use Ryoma. Have you noticed not one game against another school was without Ryoma?

well, if we recall some memories from the anime, most of the regulars, the coach and the freshmen, wanted Ryoma to go to the US open, Ryoma forced himself not to... Also, if I remember correctly, I think the echizen - hewitt match was in the semi-finals... Didn't ryoma say to kevin before he went back to Japan that he'll be back before the semi starts??....Well, if it was finals, maybe it was like that two players fight for the third place whle 2 other players fight for first...
About the 8 regulars, it confused me also but then, if I analyze it, it might be that 7 players and 1 substitute...it seems that when the start of matches between 2 teams where shown, when both teams face each other, their lines are both the same length, like they have even members...I remember that Seigaku just have different line up everytime with one different player not participating...the last time I checked, before the semi, Fuji was the one who didn't participate...
About the Atobe's shave, well, he IS stinking rich, he must have gone to some specialist or he might have commanded his servants to buy him a special formula for hair-growing...
sorry if I might have said something wrong...hehe..also sorry for replying very long...

Seigaku 9 players...Maybe they are rotating...or something like. Is that allowed

Post by shiraishi on Nov 12, 2007 4:59:46 GMT 7
No that is not. It's illegal to do that in a tournament... In all the team tournaments I've gone to you had to register 8 regular players for that one tournament. And besides I don't see any other team with 9 players, seigaku is so cheap...

Um.....my mind is a little fuzzy but when Oishi injured is wrist, didn't Momo fill in for him and went to the Kantou Tournament in place of Oishi? Or was that before they registered.......

lol. Imagine that it's ryoma vs. yukimura and he unlocks the pinnacle of perfection and is about to win against rikkaidai. All of a sudden someone in the stands yells "Hey seigaku's been cheating", hilarious. xD

Sigh now only if he lost the last match... I really want to see him cry. Sort of like ash when he lost that tournament thing in Pokemon... Wait what if he does lose? man that would be a cool twist seeing that he came into the ova's again, hmm I wonder how many ppl would hate him after that?

I guess enough people will hate him, but his fangirls won't =.='. Ne, I wonder if he will lose. Apparently, they want him to continue on in the Nationals so he probably wouldn't lose.

ok what i think is that the creator of PoT made the anime different from the manga so that people didnt see wat they already read.....kinda like keepin them inerested. So becuase of that the story had a few flaws. Also i think that the us open didnt overlap the tourement (specifically) but the skool one. So since Ryoma couldnt play in the tourement he couldnt be a regular. Therefor not bein able to participate in the nationals. But since oishi was injured he just took his spot......
This is just my thoughts....
