Well i'm sure a lot of you have realised, there are a hell lot of differences between the manga and anime (not inclusive of the fillers).
One such example would be Sanada. His FuuRinKaInZanRai was changed into this "invisible serve/swing" i mean, WTH- i think that the FuuRinKaInZanRai was much better. And who knows what the anime people will do with his nationals match with tezuka. Maybe change his In and Rai into some wimpy shot again.
Do any of you think that the anime version of these differences were better?

eh well, i havent read the manga so i wouldnt know, but i seem to notice people saying that some of the characters in the anime are really different than the same characters in the manga
like sanada (like you said), ryoma, and kirihara
but i think that the anime may have changed the characters so that it would be more interesting or it would take too much time to certain explain things
im probably wrong ;D yes i know i have so much self-confidence xD

LOL they made sanada seem so sweet in the anime -_- in the manga he was more cold-hearted and eh, harsh. xD hmm i seem to have mentioned it somewhere.... ahh there it is truth is, i didnt really like sanada at first (being abusive, cold-hearted and all) but after the anime portrayed him in a different light, look what happened :0

Um. Actually, the OVA claimed to follow the manga closely, right? Yet Atobe shaved his own hair. Hell, that was SOO OOC

Well. the manga is somwhat more serious than the anime. sometimes the anime is just too exaggerated (especially the movie but boy does the Tezuka Zone amaze me XD)

Yagyuu's hair is purple....and in the manga Ryoma beat Kirihara instead of losing to Sanada (before the Rikkai-Seigaku match)

They change a lot because THEY think that watching the same thing as the manga is boring. . .
Nion seems weaker in the anime. . . >____>

and in the manga Ryoma beat Kirihara instead of losing to Sanada (before the Rikkai-Seigaku match) for once, just for once, the anime is MUCH better than the manga. well and in the anime sanada accepted the runners' up medal for the kantou tournament when in the manga, he refused

It makes him cooler if he refuse. . . my opinion. . .

I think Niou is more sadistic in the manga as well... especially in him vs Fuji match.

yea...he's hardly even a trickster in the anime, they don't switch or anything fun like that, and tori's right, he doesn't even knock Eiji unconcious in the anime (i dont think...)

Um. Actually, the OVA claimed to follow the manga closely, right? Yet Atobe shaved his own hair. Hell, that was SOO OOC Why is that OOC? Atobe holds himself as a high character but he definitely is an honorable character. Atobe gave it his all to win the match and he lost, he made the promise, and he lost. Him shaving his own head as his atonement for losing for Hyotei makes sense.

I think thats its sort of out of character when Atobe makes that promise/bet with Ryoma at the beginning of the match in the first place. I mean it sort of seems to Atobe that appearance is everything to him XD
and i agree with whisper-senpai, even if Atobe is an arrogant narcissist, he still would be honorable and keep his end of the bargain

I think that Atobe making the bet does make sense. Because he believes that there is no way that Ryoma can win.
Now him shaving his hair.. I can see him doing that because of pride. I just think that the twist to the story is better if his hair is shaved while he's sleeping.

It 'll be funnier if he got his hair shave by Ryoma, while he's still unconcious

Yagyuu's hair is purple.... They changed a lot of characters' hair colours i think. Atobe, Yagyuu, Dabide, Jirou etc etc

Umm eh. Hold on. It was dark brown/greyish in the manga but brown/orangish in the anime. Saeki's hair colour changed too. It was Light brown/ beige in the manga but white in the anime.

Yeah, Kirihara isn't supposed to be some saint, he's a devil and the anime totally screwed his character when they did the Japan-USA competition arc.

I don't think he does. Well actually in the manga he activates Muga no Kyochi and uses Ka and Drive B, which he does not do in the anime if I remember correctly, but he has no special moves that are his own that differ. The Phantom Ball is anime only.

In the manga it was Midoriyama who won against Jyousei Shounan right? And in the anime it was vice-versa but it seemed kinda too short the match of Seigaku against Midoriyama compared to the match of Jyousei Shounan in the anime. Niou and Yagyuu didn't do the switch in the anime and they showed how Yagyuu joined the tennis team but in the manga they did switch but didn't show Yagyuu joining the team. And I agree that Niou seemed weaker in the anime compared to the manga...

Actually I think the whole Rikkai and all other teams seem weaker or something... Even the hair colors, I find it a little bit hard to accept it.
